COMMUNITY PROGRAMS ASSISTANT (Bilingual Position)

Opportunity: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours/week)

Closing Date: September 1, 2023 4:00 pm

Responsibilities:

As a member of the Community Health Team:

  • Provide administrative and technical support to assist in delivering community health activities.
  • Maintain inventory of program materials and supplies.
  • Support communication efforts for the community health program and support program events.
  • Manage community health program registrations.
  • Maintain electronic client records.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • College diploma in health, recreation or social science related field.
  • OR post-secondary degree in health sciences.

Experience:

  • At least two (2) years of experience working with older adults, in health promotion and delivering community activities within a community-based organization.
  • Experience in office administration will be considered an asset.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Bilingual: verbal and written communications skills in French and English are required
  • Ability to facilitate groups; must be initiative-taking and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of team
  • Experience working with older adults
  • Excellent knowledge of computers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt and must be able to work flexible hours
  • A criminal record check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required upon hire

Work Location:

West Nipissing Community Health Centre – 68 Michaud Street, Sturgeon Falls

Salary Scale:

Between $18.59 to $21.00 hourly, plus benefits and pension plan
